This is an installation at the Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco that included several wall based works, drawings, and wood sculpture. The exhibition examined the tension and complex beauty born out of the collision of wilderness and human industry and explored how difficult and remote terrains are viewed through the lenses of technology such as photographs, remote sensing, and 3-d models. The 24’ long Mora wood bench in the center of the room, Tree, Bridge, Bench, was originally part of a trestle bridge in French Guyana. This piece looks at the different roles of a single organism through the hands of man- first a tree, then a bridge/road, then lumber, then a sculpture/bench.
