Part of "Before the Rush", series of works made in 2005 for an exhibition at Southern Exposure Gallery. This exhibition looked at the ways that man has altered the San Francisco natural landscape. Derived from archives and historic maps, these works create visual comparisons of the past and present.
"SF Bay 1780; SF Bay 2000" depicts a map of the San Francisco Bay. The left side of the reflective image waterscape shows the contours of the bay as it was in 1780. The right side shows the bay today as it has been reshaped by man and industry.
